Slicker's in Waiblingen is always bustling with activity. Freshly tapped beer, good coffee, cocktails, live sports on Sky and DAZN, plus karaoke and live music until late into the night. A place like this thrives on the hustle and bustle, and that's precisely why owner Niklas Mejzlik wanted to keep a close eye on his establishment even when he wasn't behind the bar himself.
EMATHON's task: to completely cover the entire interior, from the dining area with its bar and slot machines to the sensitive technical and cash register area. And to do so as discreetly as possible, so that the technology wouldn't disrupt the comfortable atmosphere.
We implemented this using two Tapo C575D cameras. Both are 4K dual-lens cameras: A fixed 170° wide-angle lens keeps the entire room in view, while the second, motorized telephoto lens automatically tracks movement and captures details such as the checkout area. Camera one covers the dining area, while camera two secures the rear area with the network and technical infrastructure. Both cameras are hardwired via PoE, meaning they carry power and network data over a single cable. No battery changes, no gaps in recording, and thanks to local storage, no subscription fees.
